“I JUST WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN”!

“I JUST WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN”

Our niece, Keri Jayne, which is Brother and Sister Liddell’s daughter, had just returned home from a shopping trip with her two boys and daughter when the boys asked if they could play video games on the TV which all three children share. By the way, Keri Jayne is an outstanding Christian mother. Stella Jayne, who just turned 3 years old, seemed to think the TV was all hers and she was not happy because the boys were playing on “her” TV. Mom heard her raising her voice and letting the boys have it because she should be the one watching TV, not the boys playing on “her” TV! Keri went in to see what she was so upset about and what she was actually saying to the boys. She asked Stella Jane, “what is wrong with you”? Stella turned around, visibly upset, and said, “I just want to go to heaven. I just want to see Jesus!”
Maybe we’re not so upset we just want to go to heaven and see Jesus, but going to heaven and being with our Lord should be our number one goal in this life. In order to go to heaven, there are things we must do to get there. We first need to become a Christian because our sins separate us from God (Isa. 59:1-2 & Rom. 3:23). Then once we become a Christians, we must be obedient to God, Matthew 7:21 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Being obedient to God is a lifetime commitment as a faithful Christian. But once this life is over and we have been faithful to our Father, we will be able to go to heaven and see Jesus for sure. Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Instead of wanting to go to heaven and see Jesus when we are distraught, let us just make it our goal to go to heaven and see Jesus.
