THIS SUNDAY IS BIBLE SUNDAY!
EVERYONE BRING A BIBLE!
“Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain” (Phil 2:16)
The world seemingly has forgotten the Bible and has turned its back on the word of God. We must bring men back to the Bible.
Not only will we hold forth the word of God in letting the world see it in our hands, but also in our life. The scriptures give us several views of the Bible.
One, note the Psalmist words, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Ps. 119:105). We live in a dark world of sin where men love darkness rather than light (John 3:19). We need the light of The Holy Word of God shinning in the world.
Second, note the Psalmist words, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Ps. 119:11). The word of God in our hearts is a buckler against sin. Temptation confronts us daily, but the word of God in our hearts helps us in our fight against sin.
Third, remember the word of God is powerful. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb. 4:12).
This coming Sunday let’s have a large number present, all with Bibles in hand to show Lithia Springs, Douglasville and the Atlanta area that we are standing firm upon the word of God.
