The Way Home

The Way Home

We sing the song, “This world is not my home, I’m just passing through” shows us of the journey of man.  We are called strangers and pilgrims (I Peter 2:11).

Christ tells us that we have a mansion awaiting us in heaven if we are obedient to His Will and remain faithful (John 14:1-4; Heb.5:9; I Pet.1:4-5).  One must desire to go to heaven.  Abraham did (Heb.11:10). David did (II Sam.12:23). Paul did (Phil.1:23-24).  After desire, comes deciding to go to heaven.  No man can decide, live, or prepare for you to go to heaven, except for yourself. You have two choices of eternity (Mt.25:46).

The way home is simple.  Out of self (Mt.16:24). Into Christ and abide in Him, as well as persevere (Rom.6:3-4, Jn.15:6, Mt.10:22). Into heaven (Mt.25:34).  This is the journey’s ultimate destination.
