The Prices We Pay
Everything we have or want must come at a price. Whenever we go to the store, we have to pay the set amount for something. Going on trips has a price tag, in that; we have to use gas along with our time and money there and back. That’s the price we pay. There is a price for spiritual strength. Must eat (I Pet.2:2), exercise (I Tim.4:7), and time is invested (Heb.5:12). There is a price for knowledge, since you need to study (II Tim.2:15). There is a price for heaven. Must be baptized into Christ (Gal.3:27), then live Christ (Phil.1:21), abide in Christ (Jn.15:6), then die in Christ (Rev.14:13). A person cannot have everything. He can have heaven, but at the expense of giving up the world, or, he can have the world, but at the price of giving up heaven.
