THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CHURCH
Part 1 – Because of its Forecast Part 2 – Because of its Fulfillment
Part 3 – Because of its Focus Part 4—Because of its Family
Part 5 – Because of Its Future
PART 5 OF 5
The Bible says, “Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Eph. 3:21). This is the fifth installment in a series of five on The Importance of the Church. The church is important because therein is God glorified.
The church is important because of its Future
The importance of the church because of its future is seen in three specific passages of scripture:
Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
Matthew 16:18 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
1 Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
It is revealed concerning the future of the kingdom that “It shall stand forever,” “That the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” and “He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God.” How powerful are those verses! This earth will melt with fervent heat and the works that are therein shall be burned up (2 Pet. 3:10), but the church will be delivered up to God. So everyone should want to be a part of that kingdom.
Remember the words of Luke, “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved” (Acts 2:47). Since it will have no end, and the gates of hell cannot stop it, why not be saved now and be added to the church.
