Parable of the Carpenter’s Tools

Parable of the Carpenter’s Tools

The Carpenter’s tools had a talk. Sister Hammer had been informed that she must leave because she was just too noisy. “If I leave,” she said, “Then Brother Gimlet must go too! He is so insignificant and makes a small impression.” Brother Gimlet arose to leave, but not before stating, “Well Brother Screw should leave too! He has to be turned around and around to get him anywhere.” Bro. Screw responded, “I will go but, Bro. Plane should leave! He rubs everybody the wrong way! Bro. Plane made his thoughts known. “Bro. Ruler will need to withdraw too!” “He measures everybody by his standards, as though he is the only one right.” Then Bro. Ruler complained again. “Bro. Sandpaper, he is always rubbing people the wrong way!”

In the midst of all the turmoil and strife, the Master Carpenter from Nazareth entered, donned His apron, and went to work. Employing all the shop tools, He built a beautiful and solidly constructed pulpit. When the day’s work was finished and the pulpit completed, Bro. Saw addressed the group.  “What all of us said was true! We all had our faults and flaws. I perceive that in the Carpenter’s hands, we ALL contributed. Together, the task was completed. There was not a place where we were not all used and where one was employed, no other would have worked. I think we are all workers together with God!”

Brethren, let us not bite and devour one another! Let us all appreciate the others individual talents and abilities! There is a place for each of us in the Carpenter’s service and the Elders at Lithia Springs need each and every brother and sister to grow the church and help save souls everywhere. The Elders want to let each and every one of our members know how much we love you and need you. Every person is very important to us at the Lithia Springs Church of Christ.
