GROWING CLOSER TO EACH OTHER

GROWING CLOSER TO EACH OTHER

We’re busy! Everyone seems to be busy! Don’t have time! Day isn’t long enough! As a result we don’t seem to have time for one another. Paul wrote, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2). Brother David Sproule of the Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ in West Palm Beach, FL wrote an excellent article on how we can grow closer together. Space doesn’t permit the entire article but here are three of his suggestions:

1. Invite brethren into your home. There are few things more personal than having folks inside your home. Do it once, and you’ll want to do it again.

2. Go to lunch with brethren on Sunday. Some folks will grab a bite after worship on Sunday mornings. Ask some folks if they want to go together (each paying for their own meal). You pick the place, so that you can control the cost.

3. Don’t rush in; don’t rush out. Be at every church service get there early, stay late. Sit down and visit with your brethren. Stand around and talk. Be friendly.

“Let brotherly love continue” (Heb. 13:1)
