Christianity Is A Teaching Religion
Teaching comes before one is converted (Mt.13:15). There are various examples found especially within the book of Acts. No new birth is apart from teaching (I Pet.1:23). No gospel fruit is apart from sowing the seed (Mt.13:3-8, 18-23). All ages, races, and classes must be taught the truth of the gospel (Mt.28:19-20; Mk.16:15-16).
The children are especially teachable, because their minds are still developing and impressionable (Deu.11:18-19; Eph.6:4). The church is a great teaching institution. Paul calls the church the pillar and ground of the church (I Tim.3:15), while John calls it a candlestick (Rev.1:20; 2:5).
Every member should be a teacher (Heb.5:12). The teaching program is two-fold. (1) Teach people to become Christians and (2) to live the Christian life (Mt.28:19-20).
