BE NOT WEARY

BE NOT WEARY

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” Gal. 6:9. This is probably one of the most needed passages in scripture. It is so easy to quit, to give up, to throw in the towel. In spite of the motivational cliché such as, “When the going gets tough the tough get going,” or “When you’re at the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on,” we still find it hard not to just say, “I’m not going to do this anymore.”  Remember the poem, “Rest awhile…”? Here is the first verse:

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit-

Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

This article is to the following:

To the parents who are trying to raise their children right but it seem they don’t listen and more specifically won’t do what you say. Don’t give up and let them do as they please. Stay in there (Eph. 6:1-4).

To the single mom or dad who is struggling to provide the necessities of life for your family and it seems there is no end to the financial difficulty. Remember God is still with you (Phil 4:13).

To the husband/wife whose mate does not serve the Lord and it seems a constant uphill battle to stay faithful. Remember there is a way. It may take time but stay with it (1 Pet. 3:1-6).

To the elders who get discouraged because it seems that in spite of all the teaching, training and encouraging some of the members still refuse to serve God faithfully. Remember “And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away” (1 Pet. 5:4).

            Don’t quit!
