AND THE WINNERS ARE …!

AND THE WINNERS ARE …!

The 2012 election is over. There were four distinct winners (in my opinion) in that election. Here they are:

One, are those who support and want abortion, late term abortion, abortion on demand. In the federal as well as state elections, according to reports, those who ran on the platform of abortion won.

Two, those who support same sex marriage. Generally those who support abortion support same sex marriage.

The third winners are those who want recreational marijuana. The following was a front page article: “The election produced groundbreaking steps on a pair of social issues, as voters endorsed same-sex marriage in four states and legalization of marijuana in two (USA Today, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012).

The fourth winners are those who want alcohol sales on Sunday (Douglas County, GA).

Things have changed in America. TV programs such as “Will and Grace” and “Glee” have had an effect on the thinking of our society.

So, do those of us who are Christians just sit back and say, “There’s nothing we can do?” Remember that we must obey the laws of the land (Rom. 13; 1 Pet. 2:13-14). However, because the law of the land allows abortion, same sex marriage or alcohol consumption doesn’t mean that the Christian can engage in such acts and not be accountable to God. We must pay our taxes. Jesus said, “…Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s” (Mt. 22:21).

Here is what I intend to do:

            1. Preach that abortion, same sex marriage and homosexuality are an abomination to God (Lev. 18:22). Those who shed innocent blood are condemned and it must be preached as such (Rom. 3:10-18). Paul told Timothy to “Preach the word…” (2 Tim 4:1-4).

            2. Remind Christians as well as the world that God is still in control. The Doctrine of God’s Sovereignty in the affairs of men means that, no matter what we may decide as a nation on Election Day, God is ultimately in charge. Therefore, no one becomes King or President without God’s permission. God has reasons in His grand plan that we may never know. Keep this in mind: ‘And He changes the times and the seasons; He REMOVES kings and RAISES UP kings…’ (Daniel 2:21).”

            3. Pray. Pray for our leaders that some way their hearts will be touched by the Word of God (1 Tim 2:1-3).

            4. Endeavor to live so as not be a hypocrite (Mt. 23). That the world has no doubt where a Christian stands (Eph. 6:10-18). When they look at the life of a Christian they know where the Christian stands.
