A child’s greatest Puzzle
One of the greatest puzzles in my life is when my daddy whips me for smoking a cigarette butt he threw away. And my mother sometimes washes my mouth out with soap for saying a word that I learn from her. Ever since I can remember, my parents have taught me not to tell lies, but the other day my mother sent me to the door to tell a neighbor that she doesn’t like, that she wasn’t home and she had gone to the store.
Maybe when we get big and our folks get little, we can enjoy the privilege of telling “WHOPPERS.” You know, being a parent must be fun…but being a kid is tough, with so many restrictions.
Remember that every word spoken before our children and every action observed contributes to the formation of their character.
Deuteronomy 11:19… “You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
