Resolutions

ELDERS CORNER
“Resolutions”

By Keith Dula

Many people make resolutions at the beginning of the new year to live a healthier lifestyle. To do this, people will decide to decrease sodium, sugar and junk food from their diet and increase more foods that are good for them. To further help with their quest for a healthier lifestyle they will also decide to exercise regularly and maybe even join a gym. All of these actions can help us to be in better physical condition but what about our spiritual condition? Have we resolved to do the things that will help us to be stronger Christians in this new year? Have we made the decision to eliminate the junk in our lives and replace it with Godly things? Have we decided to decrease the amount of time we watch television and surf the internet and increase the time we study God’s word? Have we made the decision to attend all church services and to work in God’s kingdom? There is nothing wrong with living a healthy lifestyle, but we must not lose sight of that which is more important, our Spiritual health.

1 Timothy reads “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”
