GOD IS WATCHING OUT FOR US

GOD IS WATCHING OUT FOR US

Can you imagine the children of Israel passing through the Red Sea in a single file, carefully following an imaginary thin red line running in the exact middle of the narrow path and the towering threatening walls of dark water roaring within arm’s reach on either side.

Or maybe the path through the water was wide, wide enough for families and communities to pass together. I wonder if God held the waters back far enough, so that they could see the sky. Maybe the children dragged sticks through the liquid walls to make patterns and splashes that cooled their faces and sparkled in the sunlight. Did the Israelites feel like the journey to freedom was one-dimensional, a frantic rush to the other side? Or did God give them room to hold on to each other, to explore and see Him more clearly on the journey, and not just on the other side. Was their walk through the dark waters the place where they finally saw how wide and long and high and deep God’s love was for them?

Look for God on your journey. He is there.
