From The Cuff

Only the third time in my work as a gospel preacher have I not been able to preach on

the Lord’s Day. I came prepared and felt that I could do it but it wasn’t to be.

Thanks to Bro. Charlie and Bro. Gary. I stayed upstairs and listened to Bro. Charlie’s message and went home following the sermon. As usual he had an excellent message.

Thanks to all of you who have texted me and called. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

You will have the pleasure of hearing both men again this Sunday as I will begin a gospel meeting with the East End Church of Christ in McMinnville, TN.

A big thanks goes to Jeff and Nova Adams, Ron and Jennifer Pinkston, Randy Cox, Rhonda Turner and Eric and Jamie Maxwell who served as chaperones for the trip to Valdosta for the Youth Weekend. I understand all went well.

Ladies the Ladies Day has been changed to October 9, 2010 and Sis. Maggie Colley from Memphis, TN will be the speaker.

We have a new copier that is scheduled to be delivered. The old copier will be placed in the Library for your use. Paper and supplies that you may need will also be there. We are asking that not everyone use the new copier until you have been trained on it.  It has the option of using color and some of our bulletins will eventually be in color as well as advertisements and special announcements.

Thanks to Bro. Fabu Smith who connected our KU Band Satellite to our Power Point system so the Gospel Broadcast Network can be seen in the auditorium and in the Library. He worked several hours connecting it to the Power Point and preacher’s office as well.

We are well into the year of 2010. Some exciting things are coming work. Our youth activities, gospel meeting, summer series, Bible Bowl at East Point, Lectures at MSOP, Lads to Leaders convention, Teachers Workshop. This will be a great year for the Lithia Springs congregation. Pray for our elders, deacons, Bible School teachers that we may be able to carry out the work of preaching the gospel.

We continue to get a good response from our television program. Sunday we had two requests for BCC -  one from California and one from Michigan. Sis. Rhonda Turner and Sis. Lena Fouts do a great job keeping up with all our students. Thanks ladies.

I look forward to seeing you on the 14th.
